Woman Dies After Electrical Shock at Bus Stop in Pathum Thani
A 54-year-old woman died after being electrocuted at a bus stop shelter in Pathum Thani on September 28. Rescue workers attempted CPR but she could not be revived.
Rescuers performed CPR in a desperate attempt to save a woman who was electrocuted at a bus stop shelter along Vibhavadi Rangsit Road. A soldier witnessed the victim walk up and sit down before being struck by an electrical current and collapsing. She was rushed to a hospital but could not be saved.
On September 28, the Ku Kot Municipal Rescue Center in Pathum Thani received an emergency call about a woman electrocuted at a bus stop near the National Monument, on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road in Lam Luk Ka district. Police coordinated with rescue teams from the Thai Red Cross to investigate, and they found an unconscious woman dressed in a black t-shirt and black shorts lying on the ground. Rescue workers and volunteer emergency teams immediately began CPR to revive her at the scene and then transported her to Phathum Thani Hospital. However, she was pronounced dead shortly after. The victim was identified as Tipwun, 54, from Lat Sawai subdistrict in Lam Luk Ka.
According to rescue staff Amorn Pinthupon, when they arrived at the scene, soldiers from the nearby National Monument had already cut the electrical power. Witnesses reported that the victim had walked to the bus stop shelter to rest before being electrocuted and losing consciousness instantly. The soldiers quickly turned off the power and called the rescue center for help. Police have sent the body to Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital for autopsy to determine the exact cause of death and are conducting a legal investigation before the family can claim the body for religious ceremonies.
