Pongsakdi Tangwanichkul has won the race to become Khon Kaen Provincial Administrative Organization chairman, with unofficial results showing him in first place with 424,397 votes, far ahead of second-place finisher Wattana Changlewai's 254,180 votes. On September 27, supporters including politicians, local government leaders, and provincial council members gathered at Pongsakdi's residence to celebrate. The candidate also presented a birthday cake to his wife, Thewaa Tangwanichkul, marking her 67th birthday, drawing cheers from the assembled crowd.
Pongsakdi expressed his gratitude to residents across all 26 districts of Khon Kaen for their support. He pledged to prioritize solving the drought crisis affecting the province's over one million farmers and their combined four million rai of agricultural land through water source development projects, including canal dredging, weir construction, and deep well drilling. After taking a near-two-year break from local politics, Pongsakdi said he was reinvigorated and committed to leveraging his experience and leadership skills to advance the province further.
