Preparatory School Band Wins Thailand's Power Band 2026 Championship
The Preparatory School band won the Thailand‑wide Power Band 2026 championship in the High School Class category, earning a trophy, 150,000 baht and a chance to record a single with a professional producer. The competition, organized by King Power and Mahidol University’s College of Music with support from major Thai record labels, selected the winner from 284 bands nationwide after a music camp and finals at the Aksorn Theatre in Bangkok. Thai rock star Nene Royal (Praew Rattikan Amloy) of OZONE, a former Outstanding Player award winner, was highlighted as an inspiration after her success on America’s Got Talent.
The Power Band national music competition congratulates Nene Royal, also known as Praew Rattikan Amloy, lead singer and guitarist of OZONE, who earned Outstanding Player in The Power Band 2025 Season 5. The Thai rock star recently made history and displayed her musical talent on America’s Got Talent Season 21 on NBC, inspiring Thai youth. The Power Band 2026 Season 6 finals have returned, this year featuring only the High School Class category, selected from 284 bands nationwide, narrowed down to 16 finalists who will also join the exclusive Power Band Music Camp 2026 before the final showdown. The Preparatory School band from Preparatory School won the championship, demonstrating skill, creativity, and impressing the judges to claim the title and the opportunity to record a single with a professional producer. This year’s theme is “Infinite Music Possibilities: Music Power Is Limitless,” organized by King Power Thai Power Palang Khon Thai in partnership with Mahidol University’s College of Music, seven leading Thai record labels—Muzik Move, Smallroom, LOVEiS Entertainment, What The Duck, XOXO Entertainment, YUPP! Entertainment, and Universal Music Thailand—as well as partners Singha Corporation, T‑POP STAGE, The Guitar Mag, and Yamaha Music Thailand. The initiative aims to create opportunities for Thai youth to showcase musical talent, elevate the competition into a learning and experiential platform, and foster a Thai music community that drives the industry forward, with prizes worth more than 1.5 million baht. The final was judged by experienced music industry professionals at the Aksorn Theatre, King Power Rangnam, including Apichart Sriwatthanaphab, Assistant Chief Operating Officer of King Power Group, who said the competition aims to build a music community that helps youth discover themselves, develop skills, and see concrete pathways to the future. The winning high school band received the honorary trophy and 150,000 baht prize, plus the chance to produce a single.
