Robber Snatches 2-Baht Gold Necklace from Ayutthaya Shop
A thief in black clothing snatched a 2‑baht gold necklace worth around 140,000 baht from a jewelry shop in Ayutthaya’s Bang Pa‑in district on October 16. The shop owner gave chase but could not catch the suspect, who fled on a black Honda PCX motorcycle. Police are reviewing CCTV images and following leads to apprehend the offender.
On 16 October 2026, Police Lieutenant Pochaphol Thammasap of Bang Pa‑in Police Station received a report that a man wearing a black long‑sleeve shirt, black trousers, a black cap and black‑white sandals entered a gold shop in the Sinthiwatthani community, Moo 2, Sam Ruean sub‑district, Bang Pa‑in district, pretending to examine a 2‑baht gold necklace. He then grabbed the necklace from the owner, struggled briefly, and escaped on a black Honda PCX motorcycle. The owner, noting the suspect’s shaky hands and nervous behavior earlier, chased him but lost sight. Police reviewed CCTV footage, which shows the suspect limping with his left leg longer than his right, and are checking additional cameras to identify the motorcycle’s license plate. Investigators believe the suspect is a Thai‑accented man in his thirties who had visited the shop one to two weeks earlier to look at the same necklace. Police from Bang Pa‑in and Ayutthaya Province are continuing the search.
