Piphatt Phaniangyuet, founder and CEO of Thai President Foods who built Mama instant noodles into Thailand's most popular noodle brand, has died at 87. Funeral services are scheduled through July 16 at Wat Thepsirin Sanam Klang Nam.
On July 9, 2025, Piphatt Phaniangyuet, chairman and chief executive of Thai President Foods Public Company Limited (TFMAMA), the manufacturer of the Mama instant noodle brand, passed away peacefully at age 87.
His son, Pun Phaniangyuet, general manager of Thai President Foods, announced memorial services through a personal Facebook post stating: "Don't worry, dad. Our family loves each other, we're united, we care for each other, just as you wanted. Rest easy now, no more hardship." The post has received numerous expressions of sympathy from social media users.
Piphatt Phaniangyuet was considered a pioneering leader and key figure in the Suthep Group. He spent over half a century building and developing the Mama brand, transforming it from an early-stage instant noodle product into Thailand's most popular noodle brand and expanding it into a global market. He also laid the foundation and passed leadership to the next generation of family management.
The Phaniangyuet family has announced the schedule for religious rites and funeral services at Wat Thepsirin Sanam Klang Nam as follows:
Thursday, July 9, 2025: Water blessing ceremony at 4:00 p.m., chanting ceremony at 6:00 p.m.
Friday, July 10 – Wednesday, July 15, 2025: Chanting ceremonies at 6:30 p.m. daily
Thursday, July 16, 2025: Cremation ceremony at 5:00 p.m.
