Two giants, Sansiri and Siam Commercial Bank, have opened a platform to unite the real estate supply chain and accelerate growth through "Sustainable Financing" with over 2 billion baht in support from SCB. On October 20, 2026, Sansiri Public Company Limited, together with Siam Commercial Bank, organized the event "Synergy for SME Sustainable Success: Uniting Forces, Driving SMEs for Sustainable Success" at Siripark Campus. The aim is to elevate the capabilities of entrepreneurs in the supply chain of Thailand's real estate industry.

The event was honored by former Prime Minister and Sansiri co-founder Srettha Thavisin, who gave a special keynote on the changes, challenges, and opportunities facing the business sector. He stated, "Sansiri has had a long-standing good relationship with Siam Commercial Bank. SCB has provided financial support continuously for over 20 years, both during crises and growth periods. As for whether the current situation is worse than 1997, I would say probably not. However, several indicators are concerning, particularly household debt at 90%, the highest in history, which prevents us from selling and transferring properties. Household debt is a major problem."

Amid economic challenges, Sansiri and SCB are focused on collaborating to find ways to assist and support supply chain entrepreneurs so they can overcome the crisis and grow together.

Regarding the SME sector, a crucial mechanism driving the Thai economy across manufacturing, trade, and services, and linked via supply chains to large businesses, Srettha emphasized three fundamental pillars for business: cash flow management as the heart of survival in unpredictable times; financial discipline and tight planning as the best shield; and trust and commitment across the entire business chain — from main contractors to subcontractors and all stakeholders — because trust is the most indispensable and costly asset in a crisis. Finally, responsibility to support each other's survival is undeniable; if small players in the system stumble, large ones cannot stand firm either. The duty of leaders and large organizations is not just to move forward as fast as possible, but to reach out and support partners to overcome challenges and grow strongly together. Simultaneously, adapting, relying on oneself in every situation, continuously developing, staying flexible, and seeking opportunities amid crisis are essential.

SCB CEO Sarut Ratanaporn revealed the vision of partnership to strengthen the supply chain, noting that the business world is rapidly changing due to digital technology, AI applications, shifting consumer behavior, and increasing sustainability standards. This forces entrepreneurs, especially SMEs in the supply chain, to accelerate adaptation to maintain competitiveness and create long-term growth. This aligns with key global discussions on upskilling entrepreneurs: using AI to boost productivity, building resilience through sustainability, and expanding access to funding. The bank therefore places importance on ...

Senator Dr. Prem Sakdi criticised the Skill Development Fund for judging success only by the number of workers sent overseas, leaving many poor Thais trapped in a cycle of costly, risky migration. He presented seven reforms — ranging from employer‑driven training and international standards to digital literacy, fraud protection, fair contracts, and post‑return career support — to ensure Thai workers gain real skills, safety, and lasting livelihoods.
