Security Guard Arrested After Punching Female Food Rider

An apparently intoxicated security guard punched a female food delivery rider and knocked her down in front of her 10-year-old child before brandishing a gun and threatening her again. The incident occurred in a residential community under the jurisdiction of Bang Chan Police Station in Bangkok. Police Commissioner General Kittipat Panthet ordered Deputy Commander Saiyam Bunsombat to investigate the offender's status and licensing credentials.
Investigations revealed the suspect, Somsak, was employed by a security company that holds a valid business license, but Somsak himself had no individual security guard license—a violation of Section 63 of the Security Guard Act punishable by up to three months imprisonment and a fine not exceeding 5,000 baht. The security company faces separate charges for deploying an unlicensed guard, with penalties of up to six months imprisonment and a fine not exceeding 10,000 baht.
The police licensing office issued a written warning to the company—the first such notice. If the company commits similar violations four times within a year, its license can be revoked. Bang Chan Police Station has been instructed to pursue all applicable criminal charges.
