Singapore Mom Stays Calm, Shops Before Delivering Baby in 5 Minutes
Singapore radio host Natasha Fysal remained remarkably calm after learning her cervix was 5cm dilated, even stopping to run errands and pick up her children before delivering her baby boy in just five minutes of pushing.
A viral story is making waves worldwide after a 31-year-old Singaporean mother shared her incredibly calm experience delivering her third child. When her doctor informed her that her cervix was dilated 5 centimeters, she asked to return home to pick up her other two children from school and even stopped to buy some items, experiencing no abdominal pain at all.
Natasha Fysal, a 31-year-old radio host, revealed that she had been for a routine pregnancy checkup when the doctor announced her cervix was already dilated 5 centimeters. Although the doctor warned that she might deliver on the way home, she decided to go back and handle her errands because she felt no labor pain and wanted to hug her two children before going to the hospital for delivery.
Later that night, she arrived at the hospital with her cervix dilated just 7 centimeters before delivering her baby boy at 6:10 a.m. the next day with only one round of pushing that lasted approximately 5 minutes.
Natasha emphasized that her decision came from a careful self-assessment and she does not encourage other mothers to follow suit, as every pregnancy and delivery is different. She was prepared to return to the hospital immediately if anything felt unusual.
During her pregnancy, she studied breathing techniques, pelvic floor movements, and hypnobirthing methods, and received full support from her husband, family, and medical team, which helped her handle the delivery with confidence.
However, she advises all pregnant women not to compare their delivery experiences with others, but instead to prepare both physically and mentally, listen to their doctors' advice, and gather comprehensive information. Understanding one's own body helps reduce fear and build confidence when facing childbirth.
