A 29-year-old southern Thai musician and music video actor died early on August 1st after his motorcycle fell into a large open drainage ditch on a road near Tha Thon Temple in Bang Klam District, Songkhla Province. Police and rescue workers from the Mitrapap Samakkhi Foundation in Haad Yai found the victim, Waiyathaya (nickname Ann), lying face-down with his head submerged in water, and his overturned motorcycle in the ditch. "I never imagined those words were an omen of something tragic," she said, adding that her great-grandson is now left without a father.

Police received a report of a pickup truck crashing down onto the Sri Rat Expressway (Phase 2) near Sanam Luang at around 4:30 a.m. on August 2, 2025. The incident occurred in a construction zone near Ratchadamnoen Soi (Dr. Ling) in Makkasan, Ratchathewi District, Bangkok. Officers from the Expressway Station 2, Din Daeng Police, expressway rescue, Erawan emergency responders, and Poh Teck Tung Foundation volunteers rushed to the scene.

At the location, authorities found a gray Bangkok-registered pickup truck with severe front-end damage, lying upside down on a concrete debris pile. The driver, a man aged 30–35, had suffered a fractured skull and nasal bleeding. A 3–4-year-old girl was also injured critically. Both victims were immediately taken to a hospital for treatment.

According to construction workers who witnessed the incident, they heard a loud impact sound on the expressway before the truck plunged down and struck the concrete pile with great force. Initial investigation revealed skid marks and damage to concrete barriers at a junction on the expressway, suggesting the truck was traveling at high speed. A fire destroyed nearly an entire wooden house over 100 years old in Ban Bueng district, Chachoengsao province, on August 1 at 8 p.m. Police from Ban Bueng station and local firefighters responded to the wooden house fire in Moo 3, Tambon Nong Samsak, Ban Bueng subdistrict.

When responders arrived, the old wooden structure was ablaze intensely, with flames and thick smoke billowing into the sky. Because the house was built primarily of wood, the fire spread rapidly.
