The National Social Welfare Council collaborated with the Mother of the Nation Foundation, the Department of Skill Development, and disciples of Luang Ta Sin Sap to hold a marigold‑making activity in honor of the late Queen Mother. The event was held on 16 October 2569 at the Wat Pa Bon Nam Phra In Buddhist retreat in Chong Mek Subdistrict, Si Mueang Mai District, Ubon Ratchathani. It aimed to give all sectors a chance to participate in making marigold offerings as a final tribute. Police Lieutenant Dr. Manas Nonuch, chairman of the National Social Welfare Council, said the activity united everyone’s strength to express gratitude through marigold making, allowing people to take part with sincerity and recall the Queen Mother’s boundless kindness. Dr. Charunun Ungphakorn, executive director of the Mother of the Nation Foundation, explained that the foundation wanted to share the history and importance of marigold offering, a Thai tradition of paying respects, so participants could learn the steps and make enough flowers for distribution to those attending the royal tribute. Bussaba Ruengsut, Director‑General of the Skill Development Department, said the activity emphasized the value of vocational skills and hands‑on learning, while promoting cooperation among agencies and networks to let participants practice and pay their respects. The event exemplified how agencies and partners can open a space for the public to join in the final act of homage to the Queen Mother, while promoting learning and transmission of traditional handicraft skills that require care and dedication.
