Soldier Seeks Return of 400k Baht Dowry After Nurse Disappears
A soldier says he gave a 400,000‑baht dowry to a nurse he met through her family's food stall, only for her to disappear and stop responding. He later learned she was allegedly involved with other men and asked for the dowry back, but her family refused and denied any wrongdoing. The soldier filed a complaint with a local‑page founder seeking justice for the alleged fraud.
On October 12, 2026, 24‑year‑old soldier Wave submitted documents seeking justice to Ekaphol Leuangprasert, founder of the Sai Mai Tod Rot page, after being deceived by a nurse who took over 400,000 baht as a dowry then cut off contact and had other relationships. He said he met the nurse in May 2025 because her family ran a food stall near the military camp; her mother introduced her as single. They contacted via Facebook and TikTok. After a week of chatting she seemed disinterested, so he stepped back. A week later she reinitiated contact, they talked for about four to five months, then her parents asked him to formalize the engagement and gave a dowry of 400,000 baht, citing the mother's debts of 300,000–400,000 baht. He paid the dowry on April 17, 2026. Four months later he requested to go to field duty; she resigned from her nursing job, leaving them without income, so he moved to a border posting for extra allowance. He later went to Bangkok to obtain a military driver’s license on August 27, 2026; she said she would join him in Bangkok, and her parents brought her to the city, claiming a Bangkok hospital needed staff. He waited three days for her but she and her family avoided him, giving excuses about poor signal and dead phone batteries. After she started working in Bangkok, communication ceased; she deleted engagement photos from social media. He consulted his family, who then approached her family to ask for the dowry return, but they denied wrongdoing and said they had nothing to give, suggesting he sue if he wanted money. He added that after the incident he discovered she had borrowed 130,000 baht to repair her car, claiming an ex‑boyfriend crashed it, and that she was also seeing two other men—a soldier and a police officer—evidenced by photos from a café.
