Soldier Wounded by Landmine Rushed to Hospital
A military officer suffered leg injuries after stepping on an unexploded ordnance during duty in Ubon Ratchathani province on July 17, with a second soldier also injured from blast effects.
At 18:30 on July 17, a military officer was injured after stepping on an unidentified explosive while performing duty. Medical and rescue teams transported the wounded soldier to Sarpradit Prasong Camp Hospital in Ubon Ratchathani province. Colonel Surang Wittayavongsurich, the hospital director, led a team of doctors and nurses into the emergency room to assess the injuries and plan urgent treatment.
The soldier with leg injuries has been placed on nil per os (NPO) status in preparation for surgical wound closure. Another soldier suffering from chest tightness and hearing loss from blast pressure remains under close medical observation. The cause and type of explosive device are still being investigated by the bomb disposal unit (EOD).
