Star Setter Boombim Returns to National Team After Injury
Star setter Boombim Chatchalok Mokaksri returns to Thailand's national women's volleyball team after six months recovering from injury, with her body nearly fully recovered ahead of the SEA V Cup 2026 second leg in Chiang Mai next week.
Boombim Chatchalok Mokaksri says she is still adjusting to her teammates but her body has recovered to nearly 100 percent following her comeback to the Thai national women's volleyball team after an absence of nearly six months due to injury. The Thai national women's volleyball team will compete in the BYD DMI 6th SEA V Cup 2026 second leg in Chiang Mai from August 7-9. Boombim, a middle blocker who currently plays for Victorina Himeji in Japan's V League, has returned to the national squad after a long injury layoff. Following her first training session at the Gymnasium 1 venue in Chiang Mai, Boombim expressed that returning to volleyball is positive and hopes her comeback will be another piece of the puzzle strengthening the team. She noted that she wants to be at 100 percent fitness and is still adjusting to the setter and team dynamics. Head coach Kiattipong Rattakrian stated that today's training focused on playing systems while individual skill adaptation varies by player. He added that overall training is progressing well and the coaching staff will conduct detailed reviews before submitting the final roster.
