A man filed a complaint with Muang Chiang Mai Police on October 31 after his girlfriend, a chicken egg vendor at a market in Phra Singha subdistrict, was assaulted by a rival vendor's son on October 26 around 12:33 PM. The woman suffered severe facial injuries from repeated punches and was hospitalized at a private clinic in Chiang Mai.
Preliminary information suggests the conflict stemmed from a dispute between adjacent stalls: the woman sells fresh farm eggs while the man helps his mother sell sticky rice. Allegedly, heat from the rice steamer affected the egg stall, leading to ongoing tensions despite the woman erecting a partition. However, the exact cause remains unconfirmed.
Lt. Col. Siromat Chatuasen, deputy inspector of Muang Chiang Mai Police, confirmed the complaint has been received and an investigation with evidence gathering is underway for legal action.
