Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Suwat Chomklin praised the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation after three natural attractions in Ranong province won the GREEN Health Attraction certification for fiscal year 2026. The achievement reflects success in upgrading tourism sites to meet hygiene, safety, and environmental standards, building confidence among Thai and foreign tourists.
Department Director-General Yongyut Nakviroj revealed that on 28 October 2026, three Ranong sites received the certification: Ngao Waterfall National Park earned the GREEN Health Attraction National Park Awards 2026, while Mu Ko Ranong National Park and the Ya Yai Hot Springs in Lam Nam Kraburi National Park received certificates for health- and environment-friendly tourism standards.
Minister Suwat said the success resulted from a policy to elevate tourism standards through cooperation between conservation and public health agencies. The effort focuses on clean, safe, and well-managed areas alongside strict natural resource protection, fostering visitor trust and promoting Ranong as a quality, sustainable health-tourism destination.
He ordered the department to use these three sites as models and rapidly expand the standards to protected areas nationwide, improving service and environmental management to support green tourism that balances visitor health and nature conservation.
The GREEN Health Attraction criteria assess tourism sites on waste management, environmental sanitation, on-site hygiene, and health-promoting facilities, aiming to raise Thai natural tourism to internationally recognized and competitive standards.
