Three Ranong national parks have secured the 2026 GREEN Health Attraction certification, raising the profile of natural tourism sites as safe, health-friendly, and environmentally sustainable.
On October 29, Plern Khwannak, director of the Office of Conservation Area Management 4 (Surat Thani), announced that natural attractions in Ranong's reserved forests earned the regional and national health and environmental standard emblem for 2026. Ranong Governor Ratchan Manoy presided over the certificate presentation at Rattanarangsan Meeting Room, Ranong Provincial Hall, aiming to boost confidence among Thai and foreign tourists in the hygiene, safety, and sustainable environmental management of these natural destinations.
Plern stated that for 2026, two awards covering three sites in Ranong were granted: the GREEN Health Attraction National Park Awards 2026 for Health Region 11 went to Ngao Waterfall National Park, represented by park chief Chalit Sinrotthanakorn; and the GREEN Health Attraction certification for 2026 went to Ranong Islands National Park, represented by park chief Supawana Sa-at, and the Hat Yai Hot Springs under Kraburi River National Park, represented by park chief Ukrit Deethong-on.
The GREEN Health Attraction assessment uses comprehensive criteria covering waste management, environmental sanitation, hygiene in service areas, and facilities that promote visitor well-being, aligning with Green Tourism policies and eco-friendly ecotourism development.
Plern added that the Office of Conservation Area Management 4, Department of National Parks, will continue collaborating with the Ranong Provincial Public Health Office to maintain and continuously improve hygiene service standards, while expanding the assessment to other natural attractions in its jurisdiction to build robust international-level ecotourism and health tourism standards.
