Three parks in Ranong Province have been awarded the 2026 GREEN Health Attraction standard, elevating natural tourism sites to be safe, health-friendly, and environmentally friendly.
October 29, 2026 – At the Ratna Rangsan Meeting Room, 5th floor, Ranong Provincial Hall, Plean Khwannak, Director of Protected Area Administration Office 4 (Surat Thani), announced that natural tourist attractions in Ranong's reserved forests have received the health and environment standard emblem at both regional and national levels for 2026. Ranong Governor Rachan Minoy presided over the presentation of certificates for the GREEN Health Attraction standard to build confidence among Thai and foreign tourists in visiting natural attractions with hygiene, safety, and sustainable environmental management.
Plean stated that for tourist attractions in Ranong Province receiving the standard certification in 2026, there are two categories covering three sites: - GREEN Health Attraction National Park Awards 2026 for Health Region 11: Namtok Ngao National Park, represented by Chalit Sinrotthanakon, Chief of Namtok Ngao National Park. - GREEN Health Attraction Standard Certificate 2026: Mu Ko Ranong National Park, represented by Suwana Sa-at, Chief of Mu Ko Ranong National Park. - Hat Yai Hot Spring, under Lam Nam Kra Buri National Park, represented by Ukrit Di-thong-on, Chief of Lam Nam Kra Buri National Park.
The GREEN Health Attraction assessment uses comprehensive criteria covering waste management, environmental sanitation, hygiene in service areas, and facilities that promote visitor well-being, supporting green tourism and environmentally friendly ecotourism development.
Plean added that moving forward, Protected Area Administration Office 4, Department of National Parks, will collaborate with the Ranong Provincial Public Health Office to continuously maintain and upgrade hygiene service standards. They will also expand the assessment to other natural tourist attractions in the area to establish robust ecotourism and health tourism standards at an international level.
