Supachai Chearavanont Awarded Honorary Doctorate by Chulalongkorn
Supachai Chearavanont, senior vice president of Charoen Pokphand Group, received an honorary Doctor of Business Administration from Chulalongkorn University on September 30, 2569. He highlighted the importance of technology, AI, and sustainable business practices, and stressed that corporate growth relies on the 'three benefits' for country, people, and organization. The honoree dedicated the award to his family and pledged to continue supporting youth development and innovation with the university.
Supachai Chearavanont said he felt proud and honored to receive the honorary doctorate from Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy, thanking the rector and faculty for the valuable recognition. He noted that a key lesson from his career is having the courage to volunteer to solve problems when an organization faces challenges, which marks the start of learning and growth as a leader. This mindset can be applied to education, viewing schools as laboratories where young people can experiment, invent, and learn from real-world problems in a safe, virtuous environment—a approach Charoen Pokphand promotes through its Centers of Excellence and by linking knowledge across its diverse businesses to create shared learning and innovation spaces with academia.
Regarding technology, he emphasized that AI will play a significant role in developing business, education, and sustainability. Its use must be governed by clear oversight and measurable outcomes aimed at increasing productivity and value delivered to customers and the organization, not reducing staff numbers but enhancing work efficiency so the organization can continually create value and grow.
For Charoen Pokphand’s long-term growth, the core lies in preserving and passing on corporate culture, guided by the ‘three benefits’—benefit to the nation, to the people, and to the organization—alongside morality, ethics, honesty, creativity, and innovation to meet future challenges and create social value. Charoen Pokphand and the Arise group expressed their willingness to join Chulalongkorn University’s youth development ecosystem, exchanging knowledge and expanding cooperation in innovation and learning to help Bangkok and Thailand become a regional hub of innovation and science.
He dedicated the honor he received to his wife and family.
