Police and bomb disposal experts safely removed a suspicious grenade-like device found at a rental home in Nakhon Sawan on July 12, with investigators now determining if it's a real explosive and belonged to a former tenant.
On July 12, 2025, police in Muang Nakhon Sawan received a report of a suspicious object resembling a grenade left at the water meter in front of a rental house in Soi Pottisarn School, Muang District, Nakhon Sawan Province. Officers quickly responded and coordinated with the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit to investigate the area urgently.
At the scene, the object was found resting on a concrete ledge against a blue metal gate at the front of the rental property. It resembled a fragmentation grenade or hand-thrown explosive device. The location is a busy pedestrian and motorcycle thoroughfare. Officers immediately secured the area with warning tape and evacuated uninvolved persons to prevent danger.
EOD personnel conducted a thorough inspection before successfully collecting and removing the object from the area safely, much to the relief of residents in the neighborhood.
Police Lieutenant Porchai Khunpilukluadech, Deputy Chief of Muang Nakhon Sawan Police Station, revealed that investigators found the object at a rental house. The item has not yet been confirmed as an actual explosive. However, evidence suggests it may have belonged to a former tenant.
