A 53-year-old father reported on September 8 that his 17-year-old daughter was chased by a large pack of stray dogs on the evening of September 5 near a housing estate called Eua Arthon in Muang district, Nakhon Ratchasima. As she rode her motorcycle home after delivering a phone to a friend, the dogs began chasing her. She accelerated to escape but lost control and crashed, suffering injuries to her face, eyebrows, shoulders, and legs. She was hospitalized for one night and required approximately 40 stitches, with medical costs reaching nearly 50,000 baht. The area is known to have a large population of stray dogs that regularly chase passing motorcyclists. A local resident, 59-year-old Thumakorn, confirmed that the stray dog problem in Nong Bua Salai and Hua Thale subdistricts has been worsening, with numbers increasing continuously and some dogs exhibiting aggressive behavior that poses a serious threat to public safety. She urged authorities to implement systematic solutions, including mobile animal control teams to capture strays for health checks, sterilization, and vaccination against rabies, followed by adoption programs or care facilities during recovery before release or rehoming to reduce the community population.
