The Thai Golf Foundation, led by Sutin Drunyothin as chairman and senior professional golf association president, along with Rewadee T. Suwanna (foundation director and secretary), Pannamppa Porpeerphun (women's golf association director), and Suthinee Isaragul (golf association advisor), officially opened the Golf Roots Center project to promote golf interest among children and youth. The foundation piloted the program at Tesaban 2 Wat Sena Nimit School in Saraburi province on July 23, with professional coaches teaching various golf fundamentals including history, driving, chipping, and putting in an enjoyable setting.
Sutin Drunyothin explained that golf is an international sport with many world-class athletes, including those from Thailand who compete globally. The main goal is to provide students and youth broader access to golf and encourage wider participation in the sport. He thanked professional golfers who donated equipment and praised local officials and school leadership for supporting the initiative, which involved students from multiple age groups learning basic golf skills.
According to Rewadee T. Suwanna, the Golf Roots Center project, supported by The R&A, aims to expand golf throughout provincial schools to grow the golfing population. Tesaban 2 Wat Sena Nimit School is the starting point, with plans to expand to other institutions. Professional coaches Porojirashak Tasanrong, Phakratdit Nilpetcharat, and Bentcha Nipithkultong are leading training efforts, and participants completing the Level 1 School Golf Roots Center program will receive certificates from the Thai Golf Foundation.
The Thai Golf Foundation was established through collaboration between six golf associations: the Royal Thai Golf Association, the Royal Women's Golf Association (under Royal Patronage of Queen Suthida), the Thai Professional Golf Association, the Thai Women's Professional Golf Association, the Thai Senior Professional Golf Association, and the Thai Golf Course Association.
