Thailand's Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department has warned 61 provinces and Bangkok of potential flash floods, river overflows, and mudslides through July 30, with emergency teams already positioned in vulnerable areas.
The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), led by Director-General Theerawat Katchamat, has issued warnings to 61 provinces and Bangkok to monitor conditions including flash floods, river overflows, waterlogging, mudslides, and strong winds from July 26–30. The department is positioning emergency response teams and heavy equipment in vulnerable areas to provide immediate aid, especially at historically flood-prone locations, and has issued advance alerts to the public.
Monitored areas for flooding and mudslides include 14 northern provinces (Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Uttaradit, Tak, Sukhothai, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phetchabun, Nakhon Sawan, and Uthai Thani); 18 northeastern provinces (Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Sisaket, and Ubon Ratchathani); 20 central provinces (Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Lopburi, Saraburi, Nakhon Nayok, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Sa Kaew, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi, Trat, Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon, and Samut Prakan); and nine southern provinces (Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, and Trang). Strong wind warnings also apply to select districts in Ranong, Phang Nga, and Phuket.
