Factory Worker Attacked With Steel Pipe Over Girlfriend
A 35-year-old factory worker was attacked with a steel pipe by two brothers at a glass factory in Chachoengsao after confronting them about staying in his room while courting his girlfriend's friend.
On July 15, Police Lieutenant Rutthathon Sittianon of Khlong Udom Chon Sub-district Police Patrol, Mueang Chachoengsao Station, received a report of an assault at a glass factory alongside Pong Phon Soi in Mueang District, Chachoengsao Province. The injured man fled by motorcycle to a nearby resort for help. Police coordinated with rescue personnel and found the victim, 35-year-old Nathphong Kachahoy, with a severe head wound bleeding heavily. He was given first aid and taken to Kasemrad Hospital.
The victim explained that during his lunch break, he called his girlfriend at the lodging but she didn't answer. Concerned, he rushed back and found his girlfriend, her female friend, and two young men gathered in his room. Realizing the two men were trying to court his girlfriend's friend and not wanting inappropriate behavior in his room, he warned them to leave since he had to return to work. This angered Phairojon, who nearly attacked him with a wooden stick, but the incident was prevented when he left for work.
That evening after work, he returned to find the same group still there. He complained to his girlfriend about allowing them to stay all day. As he rode away from the room, the two brothers—Phairojon and Pheera—followed and attacked him. Phairojon struck him multiple times on the head with a steel pipe while Pheera kicked and punched him until he lost consciousness. When he came to, he fled to a nearby resort for help.
The victim stated the conflict began at noon when he called and found the two men in his room trying to court his girlfriend's friend. After warning them to leave, the incident subsided, but when he returned that evening to find them still there and complained again, Phairojon became angry. When the victim rode off, the brothers followed and attacked him without provocation. He has decided not to accept any settlement and plans to file a formal complaint with Mueang Chachoengsao Police Station to prosecute both attackers to the fullest extent of the law.
