Thai Honor of King Team Targets Medal at Asian Games 2026
Thailand's Honor of King esports team aims to medal at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, building on their bronze medal finish three years ago with experienced players from regional leagues.
Thanawat Wattanasirmsiri, coach of the Thai national Honor of King esports team for the Asian Games, has set his sights on winning a medal at the upcoming competition. With esports action underway at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, Wattanasirmsiri outlined the team's preparation and targets. "We are ready to face any team, because to win a medal we must defeat all our opponents without hesitation, whoever they are," he said. "This is Thailand's strongest lineup yet, and at the Southeast Asian regional level, we have faced all these teams before. Our players have experience from leagues in the Philippines and Indonesia, so we know our opponents well. The team has been training together for a long time, and our teamwork is second to none." Regarding the goal, he added: "We want to perform at our best. Although our country does not have a domestic league to compete in, we will demonstrate that we can play this game just as well as anyone else. If possible, we would like to win a bronze medal like our senior teammates did at the Asian Games three years ago." The Thai Honor of King team will compete in the 2026 Asian Games on September 27-28 at Aichi Sky Expo. The team previously won bronze at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
