Bangkok Police Seize 519kg of Ice in Major Drug Bust

At 11:30 a.m. on September 25, 2569, Bangkok Metropolitan Police Headquarters announced the arrest of Jirotn, 46, following an intelligence tip about methamphetamine being transported from Bangkok to the southern region by truck. Officers found 300 kilograms of ice packed in 15 rice sacks in the truck bed at a petrol station in Bang Phli, Samut Prakan, on September 23. During questioning, the suspect revealed he collected the drugs from Ramintra, Bangkok, and was headed to Nakhon Si Thammarat. He claimed this was his third delivery after earning 100,000 baht for the first run and 200,000 baht for the second. He faces charges of possession with intent to distribute a Class 1 drug for commercial purposes. In a related operation, police arrested three men—Thanapol (Arm), 30; Chaiporn, 36; and Kittipol, 33—at a residence in Thap Yao, Lat Krabang, Bangkok, on September 24. Officers recovered 219 kilograms of ice, one firearm, and 12 rounds of ammunition. The trio confessed to distributing methamphetamine from a shelter in Thap Yao where they stored drugs before distributing to customers in Bangkok and surrounding areas. Thanapol earned only 1,000 baht per delivery. All three face charges of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and are being prosecuted under drug laws. Thanapol also faces charges of possessing a firearm without authorization.
