18-Year-Old Found Dead After Heavy Rain in Saraburi
An 18-year-old was found dead after going missing during severe flash floods that struck Muak Lek district in Saraburi on the night of September 24, with his body discovered along his route home the following morning.
On September 25, 2569, authorities reported that continuous heavy rain struck Muak Lek district in Saraburi province beginning at 10 p.m. on September 24, causing flash floods, overflowing banks, and sudden inundation across several areas. The Muak Lek district office warned residents in at-risk zones, particularly Village 8 of Lam Paya Klang subdistrict and homes along the Muak Lek canal in Mitraphap and Muak Lek subdistricts, to move belongings to high ground, relocate vehicles to safe areas, and monitor the situation closely.
By 11 p.m., severe flash floods were reported in Villages 4, 9, 11, 12, and 13 of Muak Lek subdistrict, Village 8 of Lam Paya Klang, Village 10 of Nong Yang Suea, and Villages 7 and 11 of Sap Sanun subdistrict, with water flooding roads and some homes. District Chief Oraiphote Pansoad coordinated with local government officials, volunteers, and charities to assist affected residents, evacuating them to a temporary shelter at Ban Khao Maikueang School, Village 12, Muak Lek subdistrict. By 3:20 a.m. on September 25, water levels had receded and roads reopened, though flooding remained in low-lying areas.
Following the heavy rain, a person named Paratchaphumi, 18 years old, went missing after traveling from Pinklao Temple on a Honda Wave 125 motorcycle via the Muak Lek-Wang Muang route at approximately 10:30–11 p.m. Late morning on September 25, his body was discovered along his route home. Authorities have launched an investigation and notified the family.
