On September 25, officers from the Elephant Squadron special unit of Songkhla Provincial Police Region 437, led by Deputy Inspector Suteep Chukaeow, along with court officers, conducted an early-morning raid on a residence in Moo 10, Khao Phra subdistrict, Rattaphum district, Songkhla province. They apprehended Thawatchai, 26, who was the subject of a Songkhla Provincial Court warrant for unlawful possession and use of methamphetamine. He had previously been arrested in a drug case and released on provisional bail but failed to appear in court as required, leading authorities to issue an arrest warrant for absconding.
When police entered to arrest him, Thawatchai was deeply asleep on his bed and had to be awakened. However, as he was brought down from the bed to stand outside his home for the warrant to be read and his rights explained, he became visibly distressed. His legs gave way, his face turned pale, and sweat poured from his body as he collapsed into a sitting position, appearing as though he might faint. Officers quickly moved to support him, giving him water to drink, washing his face, and wiping his body while speaking reassuringly to help him calm down.
Once his condition improved, he thanked the officers for their assistance. He was then transferred to Songkhla Provincial Court to face further legal proceedings.
