The beloved Thai rock band Asanee-Wasan concluded their historic 40-year career with an impressive farewell concert series ending September 9, 2025, yet an emotional heartbreak unfolded from the very first day. The legendary brothers lost their cherished mother, Jaruneel Chotikhul, aged 99, who passed away on September 2—the opening night of the concert. Despite this devastating loss, both brothers took the stage and performed with full dedication to create joy for their fans, with no one aware of their profound grief.
The mother's passing went unnoticed during the concert, which was already marked by the collapse of spectator seating that forced an abrupt cancellation of the opening day's show. Official funeral ceremonies were announced for September 12-15, 2025, including royal lustral water rites and Buddhist chanting at Sri Sudhawas Temple in Muang Loei District, Loei Province, with the royal cremation ceremony scheduled for September 15, 2025.
