Thai Sprinter Bhuphipol Wins 2026 Asian Games MVP Award
Thai sprinter Bhuphipol Bunson was named Most Valuable Player at the 2026 Asian Games after winning gold in the 100‑metre and 200‑metre events and a silver in the mixed relay. He received the award in Nagoya, where he said it was an honor for his family and country and pledged to showcase the Thai flag internationally. Bhuphipol is the first Thai athlete to earn the MVP honor.
Bhuphipol said the award is an honor for him, his family, and Thailand, adding that Asian runners have shown they can compete with the best in the world and he will proudly display the Thai flag on the global stage. He is the first Thai athlete to receive the Asian Games MVP award and only the second track and field athlete to do so, after Japanese sprinter Koji Ito, who won it at the 1998 Asian Games in Bangkok.
