Thai Sprinter Phuripol Advances to Asian Games Semifinals
Thai sprinter Phuripol Bunsorn, 20, won his heat in the men's 100 meters at the Asian Games in Nagoya with a season-best 9.95 seconds, advancing to the semifinals.
Twenty-year-old Thai sprinter Phuripol Bunsorn did not disappoint, dominating his heat in the men's 100-meter qualifying round at the 20th Asian Games held at Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium on September 24, 2026. Running in Heat 1, Phuripol got off to an excellent start before cruising across the finish line first with a time of 9.95 seconds, marking a new personal best this season and earning him a place in the semifinals.
Phuripol's previous season best stood at 9.99 seconds, set during a track meet in the Czech Republic in early August during a training and competition stint. His all-time personal record remains 9.94 seconds, achieved at the 2025 Southeast Asian Games held in Thailand late last year.
