The Ministry of Culture's Department of Cultural Promotion is hosting the Thai Taste Thai Fest 2026 cultural festival from October 1–4, 2026, at the Thailand Cultural Centre. The event celebrates one signature dish per province from all 77 provinces nationwide, with activities running from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The opening ceremony will be held on October 3 at 10 a.m. at the Small Conference Hall.
The festival brings together government, private sector, and community partners to showcase rare and endangered local dishes, many of which are unknown to the general public or risk disappearing entirely. Some are unique to a single location in Thailand. Culture Minister Sabida Thai Sethi said the festival aims to celebrate Thai cultural heritage through regional flavors and encourage both Thai citizens and foreign visitors to experience authentic local cuisine. The event highlights the theme "The Lost Taste," focusing on preserving and reviving culinary traditions while promoting them to international tourists.
Department Director Chotika Akkakij Sophakul added that the festival features registered provincial dishes, heritage demonstrations, cooking shows, traditional craft zones, and performances by musicians and entertainers. The event aims to create business connections, stimulate grassroots economy, and elevate regional cuisine as a travel destination.
Beyond the food and merchandise booths, the festival includes cooking demonstrations, traditional performances, and live music from various artists and celebrities. The Thai Taste Thai Fest 2026 runs October 1–4 at the Thailand Cultural Centre, offering visitors the chance to taste, view, and purchase signature regional dishes celebrating "The Lost Taste" of 2026.
