Thai PM Arrives in New York for UN Summit and Investment Roadshow
Thailand's Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul arrived in New York to attend the UN General Assembly opening and promote investment opportunities through a Thailand Roadshow with major financial institutions through Friday.
Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Interior Minister posted on his personal Facebook about safely arriving in New York for a UNGA mission at the United Nations and to conduct a Thailand Roadshow with the Stock Exchange of Thailand for potential investors and financial institutions until Friday.
Anutin also posted the famous lyric "If I can make it there, I'll make it anywhere," a line from the iconic Frank Sinatra song "Theme from New York, New York." The message appears to suggest that success in the competitive environment of New York translates to success worldwide.
The Prime Minister arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York at approximately 2 p.m. on September 21 local time (11 hours behind Thailand) and proceeded to the JW Marriott hotel. He is scheduled to attend the opening ceremony of the 81st UN General Assembly at UN headquarters at approximately 9 a.m. on September 22 local time, or around 8 p.m. Thailand time the same day.
Besides attending the UNGA81 opening ceremony, his key engagements include meetings with Rebecca Grynspan, a candidate for UN Secretary-General from Costa Rica (whose term expires at year's end), and discussions with investors from Bank of America and executives from Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO).
