Thai tennis player Kasidet Samrej exited the Asian Games in the quarter-finals after a straight‑sets loss to Hong Kong's Coleman Wong. He acknowledged his play was below expectations and apologized to Thai fans for not earning a medal, vowing to improve.
Kasidet Samrej, Thailand's No. 1 tennis player ranked 382 worldwide, said he did not play well enough after his defeat to Coleman Wong of Hong Kong, the world No. 108 and tournament's top seed, losing 0-2 in straight sets, 3-6 and 0-6, which stopped his campaign at the Asian Games quarter-finals. After the match, the 25-year-old conceded he fell short of expectations, felt regret, and apologized to Thai supporters for failing to bring home a medal, adding he would keep improving.
