Rescue Underway After Bangkok Landslide Traps Man in Pipe
A landslide in Bangkok's Watthana district trapped a man inside an underground pipe about three metres deep. Emergency services responded quickly and began rescue efforts after arriving at the scene around 7:02 PM. Authorities are continuing efforts to free the victim.
At 6:47 PM on October 1, 2026, the Rama 199 radio center received a report via hotline 199 of a landslide in Soi Pradipat Niyom 14, Sukhumvit 71 Road, North Khlong Toei Nuea Subdistrict, Watthana District. Initial reports indicated a person was trapped inside a pipe and requested assistance. Fire and rescue personnel from Khlong Toei station were dispatched to the scene. By 7:02 PM, rescuers arrived and found a male trapped approximately 3 metres underground in a pipe. Rescue operations are underway.
