Thai Volleyball Star Signs Brief Vietnam Deal Before US League
Thai volleyball captain Sasipaporn Chantavisoot will play a short stint in Vietnam's volleyball league for significant prize money before joining US-based LOVB Salt Lake next season.
Sasipaporn Chantavisoot, captain of the Thai national women's volleyball team, has confirmed she will play a short stint in the Vietnamese volleyball league for significant prize money before joining an American league. The Thai women's volleyball team concluded their 2026 Asian Games campaign in Japan with a bronze medal victory, returning to Thailand on September 23 under head coach Kiatpong Ratchtagrungkair. Vietnamese media previously reported that Sasipaporn signed with a Vietnamese league club to compete in October, with the club offering a lucrative contract to bring her on board, though the club's name has not been revealed. Sasipaporn has now confirmed herself that she is preparing to play in the Vietnamese volleyball league during a short second-leg stint to earn substantial income. She stated: "I am definitely going to play in Vietnam, to earn a big sum of money for around 10 days. I'm not certain yet how many matches I'll play, but I can confirm I'm going." Sasipaporn recently signed with LOVB Salt Lake to officially debut in the US league for the 2026/27 season.
