Army Rapid Response Unit Deployed to Flood-Hit Ayutthaya Districts
The Thai Army's 15th Mobile Development Unit deployed to flood-hit Bang Baan and Sena districts in Ayutthaya on September 24, distributing drinking water to 40 households as floodwaters affected around 500 people across the province.
On 24 September 2025, the Army Development Command's 15th Mobile Development Unit, commanded by Major General Mahithorn Booncroong of the Regional Development Office 1, visited flood-affected areas in Bang Baan and Sena districts in Ayutthaya to provide support and distribute drinking water to 40 households. The unit coordinated with community leaders and inspected the rapid mobile disaster relief team already positioned in the area, demonstrating the military's commitment to standing alongside citizens during disaster. The commander has ordered staff to coordinate with relevant agencies to prepare evacuation plans to shelters if conditions worsen, and to deploy mobile field kitchens, water production trucks, and portable sanitation units to the area for immediate service if the crisis escalates. The current situation shows water overtopping riverbanks and flooding four districts in Ayutthaya province at depths of 30-60 centimetres, affecting approximately 160 households or about 500 people. The Army Development Command continues to closely monitor the situation with personnel and equipment on standby at all times, ready to provide rapid assistance when requested, underscoring the military's role as a pillar of support for the public in all circumstances.
