On September 23, 2025, Brigadier General Mahidhorn Bunkhong, commander of the 15th Mobile Development Unit under the Royal Thai Army's headquarters, deployed a rapid-response disaster relief team comprising 12 personnel, two small trucks, one medium truck, and a flat-bottomed motorboat to Bang Baal district in Ayutthaya province following water overflow from riverbank breaches in certain areas.
Initial assessments found approximately 40 households, or around 120 people, affected by flooding with water levels between 30-50 centimeters. Officials coordinated with local government and community leaders to prepare flood response plans, survey at-risk areas, and arrange integrated assistance. The team distributed drinking water to affected residents and provided encouragement.
Authorities have warned residents to prepare for continuous rainfall between September 23-27, 2025. The rapid-response team is stationed temporarily in Bang Baal district during this period to provide immediate assistance to flood victims, operating under the principle that the military serves the people in all circumstances.
