Thai Army Deploys Units to Assist Ayutthaya Flood Relief Centre
The Thai Army’s Mobile Development Unit 15 sent 17 personnel to support a flood relief centre at Wat Kok Hirun School in Bang Ban district, Ayutthaya. They provided a water production truck and mobile toilet facilities for over 180 displaced residents, and visited elderly bedridden patients to arrange medical care. Ongoing efforts continue to alleviate hardship and ensure safety for flood‑affected communities.
On 6 October 2025, the Thai Army Headquarters, through the Army Development Command and the Disaster Relief Centre of Mobile Development Unit 15, Region 1 Development Office, Army Development Command, led by Colonel Mahithorn Boonchong, commander of Mobile Development Unit 15, visited and encouraged the rapid disaster relief and support teams, totaling 17 personnel, who are assigned to assist Bang Ban district in Ayutthaya province in organizing and supervising the relief centre at Wat Kok Hirun School, which Bang Ban district has designated as its district relief centre. As part of the support, the unit deployed a field water truck to produce clean drinking water for the evacuees and set up a mobile toilet unit within the centre, which currently shelters about 180 flood-affected people, to alleviate distress and provide convenience for those impacted by the flooding. Subsequently, Colonel Mahithorn and his team visited elderly bedridden patients residing in homes affected by standing flood waters to assess their conditions and illnesses, and gathered information to coordinate a mobile medical team from the Army Development Command’s support unit to conduct examinations and provide medical care. This reflects the army’s concern for the public, especially elderly and bedridden patients who need special care. The operation is taking place at the Bang Ban district relief centre and in the flood-affected areas of Bang Chan sub-district, Bang Ban district, Ayutthaya province. The Thai Army continues to mobilize forces and resources to support ongoing relief efforts for flood‑affected communities, aiming to ease hardship and ensure residents can safely overcome the situation.
