Army Mobilizes Flood Relief Across Prachuap Khiri Khan and Nonthaburi
The Thai Army deployed units across Prachuap Khiri Khan and Nonthaburi provinces on September 27 to evacuate flood victims, clear blocked routes, and provide temporary shelter as multiple districts faced severe flooding.
On September 27, the 2nd Infantry Regiment, through its Disaster Relief Company and the 3rd Infantry Battalion, deployed volunteer forces and equipment to help residents affected by flooding in Muang Kao Subdistrict, Kabinburi District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. Units waded through floodwaters to evacuate people and move possessions to higher ground while maintaining 24-hour surveillance of sudden flooding conditions.
The 2nd Infantry Regiment also mobilized personnel and vehicles to assist flood victims in Bu Fai, Nong Kaew, Pho Ngam, and Prajantakam subdistricts in Prajantakam District, Prachuap Khiri Khan. Soldiers waded in to evacuate residents, relocated belongings, and facilitated traffic on Route 33 between Prachuap Khiri Khan and Prajantakam to ensure safe passage. The military opened Chakrapong Camp as a temporary shelter facility offering 24-hour support.
Meanwhile, in Nonthaburi Province, the 6th Air Defense Artillery Battalion prepared sandbags and flood barriers in Thai Noi Municipality. During deployment, troops assisted a stranded bus blocking traffic by pushing it to safety and clearing the route for public use.
This coordinated military operation focused on evacuation, goods transport, sandbag preparation, traffic clearance, and shelter provision across multiple flood-affected areas. The army emphasized public safety as its priority and vowed 24-hour vigilance. Amid the flooding crisis, authorities urged residents to stay resilient and alert while military forces work alongside communities to help every family overcome this disaster together.
