Thai tennis player Patcharinee advanced to face Philippines champion Alexandra Eala in the second round at the Asian Games in Japan after defeating her Pakistani opponent 2-0 in sets.
Patcharinee Cheepchaiyodej, Thailand's promising young tennis player, defeated her Pakistani opponent 2-0 in sets during the first round of women's singles at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan on Sunday, September 27.
In her second-round matchup, Patcharinee will face Alexandra Eala, a superstar tennis player from the Philippines, Southeast Asian Games champion, ranked 18th in the world, and the tournament's top seed who received a bye in the first round.
Meanwhile, Manunchaya Sawanggaew, Thailand's world-ranked 88th player and Southeast Asian Games runner-up, defeated Mongolia's Maralkoo Chogsoyev 2-0 in sets with a score of 6-4, 6-2 to advance to the round of 16.
