Thai Weightlifter Fang Wins Bronze at 2026 Asian Games
Thailand's Olympic silver medalist Fang Theeraphong Silachai won bronze in the men's 60kg weightlifting at the 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan, lifting a combined 299 kilograms.
Fang Theeraphong Silachai, Thailand's Olympic silver medalist from the 2024 Paris Games, competed in the men's 60-kilogram division at the 20th Asian Games weightlifting competition held at Fukuoka Hall in Nagoya, Japan on September 24, 2026. In the snatch, Fang narrowly missed his first two attempts before successfully lifting 126 kilograms on his third try. He then clean-and-jerked 173 kilograms, achieving a combined total of 299 kilograms and securing the bronze medal. China's Yang Yang claimed gold with a snatch of 138 kilograms and a clean-and-jerk of 166 kilograms, for a total of 304 kilograms, breaking the Asian Games record. North Korea's Pang Un-chol took silver with a snatch of 126 kilograms and a clean-and-jerk of 174 kilograms, totaling 301 kilograms and also breaking the Asian Games record.
