Thai Youth Pedal Bike Championship Draws Over 500 Competitors
Over 500 young cyclists competed in Thailand's national pedal bike championship at Central Korat on August 2, with organizers crediting a revamped format and improved venue design for the record participation.
The Thai Cycling Association president announced that the revamped format for the national children's pedal bike championship has earned strong approval from parents and athletes, resulting in over 500 registrations for round 4 at Central Korat. The 2025 Thai national championship, held August 2 at Central Korat in Nakhon Ratchasima province, was opened by General Decha Hemkrairat, vice chairman of the Asian Cycling Confederation and president of the Thai Cycling Association. The association improved the competition based on parent feedback, creating trophies and certificates for all participants ranked 11th onwards in each age group, along with commemorative medals from Princess Sirivannavari Narirusmanivarathorn. The venue design was enhanced with wider running lanes and straighter tracks compared to round 3, and the start gates were upgraded from magnetic to hydraulic systems for greater accuracy. General Decha noted that round 5, the final qualifier in Bangkok, will determine Thailand's national champion and representative for the Asian children's pedal bike championship next year. He plans to present Thailand's readiness to host the 2026 Asian championship at an ACC Management Committee meeting in Kuala Lumpur on August 6, with strong support from other Asian nations.
