General Deecha Hemkrasri revealed that the Thailand Open cycling series from its opening round through the final stage in Phichit Province achieved full success in line with the cycling federation's strategic goal of developing new young and junior talent. The federation identifies outstanding young riders below the age threshold for elite competition and selects them to represent Thailand at events such as the Asian Youth Games, Youth Olympic Games, World Championships, and Asian Masters Championships. Without the Thailand Open platform, the federation would struggle to prepare athletes adequately. Hemkrasri noted that the federation runs four Thailand Open events annually with rules prohibiting national team members from competing, ensuring the contests serve as a proving ground for emerging riders to gain experience and demonstrate their potential for future national team selection. Deputy Governor Singharaj Wongsengiam reported that over 500 cyclists and numerous supporters attended the event at Saranajit Mongkol Suk cycling grounds in Bung Sai Phichit, with all local hotels fully booked, marking considerable success. The provincial administration expressed strong interest in hosting the event again next year, noting its significant benefits for sports promotion, economic stimulation, and tourism development in Phichit Province.
