The Cycling Association of Thailand has confirmed a clear separation of competitions: national team athletes are barred from competing in all stages of the Thailand Open series, which is reserved as a platform for emerging talent and new riders across junior, youth, and open categories. General Decha Mekraksri explained that elite competitions will continue to feature national team athletes, while the Thailand Open serves to identify outstanding cyclists for future national team selection.
The fourth and final stage of the Thailand Open will take place on September 12–13, 2025, near Phichit, featuring a 72-kilometer route through Phichit Province. The event is expected to attract numerous cyclists and nearly 2,000 supporters, filling local hotels and resorts while boosting the economy through spending at restaurants, shops, and tourism sites. Visitors will also have opportunities to visit Phichit landmarks such as temples and the scenic sunset views over Bung Sai Fai lake.
Preparations are underway with officials meeting police, health authorities, and local organizations to ensure the event runs smoothly. The opening ceremony for the mountain bike stage on Saturday, September 12, will be presided over by Thaniya Nai Phichit, the Phichit Provincial Governor, at the bird-watching tower within Bung Sai Fai, beginning at 8:30 a.m., with the road cycling stage opening the following day.
