Thailand Content Market Inaugural Event Generates Nearly 10 Billion Baht
Thailand's inaugural Content Market generated nearly 10 billion baht in transaction value from over 1,700 business meetings in July, connecting local producers of films, animation, games and digital content with international buyers from Ta
The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) reported that the first Thailand Content Market 2026, held July 20-22 at the Sirikit National Convention Centre, generated total transaction value of 9,792.4 million baht—approximately 288 million US dollars—from 1,706 business meetings. Immediate transactions totaled 265.7 million baht (7.8 million USD), with an additional 2,669.4 million baht expected within one year and 6,857.2 million baht projected for the 2-5 year timeframe.
Thailand's content sectors attracting international interest span films, animation, BL and GL series, productions, games, and content services. The top five buying markets were Taiwan-China, South Korea, Japan, and the United States, alongside major global platforms. The event provided valuable access for small and medium-sized Thai producers to global buyers and investors without competing solely on company size.
Advancing technology, particularly AI, enables smaller producers to reduce costs and increase output capacity, leveling the competitive field. The Thailand Content Market functions as a marketplace connecting small operators with global platforms and investors based on content quality rather than company scale. The 2027 edition is scheduled for July 1-3 at the same venue, with expanded space across three halls to accommodate more exhibitors, buyers, partners, and international players while strengthening Thailand's position as a seventh or eighth-ranked content industry in Asia.
