Thailand Faces Taiwan in Asian Men's Volleyball Championship
Thailand takes on Taiwan in the 2026 AVC Men's Volleyball Continental Championship on September 9 in Japan, with the Thai team already qualified for the quarterfinals after winning their first two matches.
Thailand faces Taiwan in the third group-stage match of the 2026 AVC Men's Volleyball Continental Championship at 11:30 a.m. Thailand time on September 9, at the Kitakyushu multipurpose indoor sports center in Fukuoka, Japan. The competition runs from September 4–13, 2026.
The Thai men's volleyball team has already secured passage to the quarterfinals after winning its first two matches: a 3–0 sweep over Qatar and a 3–2 victory over South Korea. Captain Bunyarut Vongton told reporters before the Taiwan match that the team is still treating every game seriously. "Taiwan still means a lot to us," he said. "We want to beat every team because no match is easy. We want to take the younger players as far as possible and build their confidence in themselves and in their teammates."
The tournament winner automatically earns a berth in the final round of the 2028 Summer Olympics, while the top three finishers qualify for the 2027 Men's Volleyball World Cup.
