The Thai Meteorological Department issued an 11th weather bulletin warning of heavy to very heavy rain, strong winds, flash floods and high seas for October 12-13. Residents are advised to avoid flood‑prone areas, secure loose objects, and exercise caution at sea.
The Thai Meteorological Department announced heavy to very heavy rain, strong winds, possible flash floods and high seas for October 12-13. On October 12 the southern region is expected to be affected; on October 13 the lower north, lower northeast, central region including Bangkok and its vicinity, east and south will see the weather. The conditions are driven by a high-pressure system or cool air mass from China spreading over upper Thailand, combined with easterly and southeasterly winds bringing moisture from the South China Sea, while the southwest monsoon continues over the Andaman Sea and a monsoon trough lies across the south. The department warned that 30 provinces should watch for thunderstorms, strong winds and heavy rain that could cause flash floods and overflow, especially on hill slopes and near waterways or in low-lying areas. People are advised to avoid open areas, large trees and weak billboards. Sea waves in the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea may exceed two meters during thunderstorms; mariners should check routes and avoid boating in such conditions. The public is urged to plan activities carefully and follow updates via the TMD website (http://www.tmd.go.th) or the phone numbers 0-2399-4012-13 and 1182, available 24 hours. The bulletin was released on October 12, 2026 at 05:00, with a follow‑up update scheduled for 17:00 the same day.
