Thailand's Telecom Authority Urges Mobile Users to Update Records by August 30
Thailand's telecom regulator is urging all mobile users to update their subscriber information by August 30 as part of a crime prevention initiative targeting fraud and technology-enabled offenses.
Thailand's National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission seeks public cooperation in updating mobile phone subscriber information to prevent technology-based crime.
On August 11, 2025, Trairat Viriyasirikul, acting secretary-general of the NBTC, announced that the commission issued an order on August 29, 2024, requiring mobile service providers to implement measures against technology-enabled crime. The order mandates that all mobile operators complete updates to subscriber information by August 30, 2025.
"The NBTC is asking the public to cooperate in updating their mobile phone subscriber information through the channels designated by their mobile service providers, by August 30, 2025," the statement said.
Members of the public who receive notification messages via SMS or other channels from their mobile operator can update their subscriber information accordingly. Anyone with concerns should contact their mobile operator's customer service center. The information update is part of the NBTC's broader crime prevention strategy designed to protect mobile phone users from fraud and other technology-enabled offenses.
