Kriang Kalptinan, former Deputy Interior Minister and multiple-term Ubon Ratchathani MP from Pheu Thai, passed away peacefully at a Bangkok hospital on August 11, 2569 at 10:10 a.m. after an extended illness. His family is preparing to return his remains to his hometown in Ubon Ratchathani province on August 12, 2569 at 8:00 a.m. for merit-making ceremonies. Kalptinan was born on November 27, 2495 and held degrees in Liberal Arts and a Master's degree in Educational Administration from Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University. He began his political career as Ubon Ratchathani MP in 2538 under the Democrat Party, later joining the New Hope Party and Thai Rak Thai. He earned the nickname "Commander of the Northeastern Region" and was appointed Deputy Interior Minister on September 1, 2566 in the Srettha Thavisin administration.
