The Thai team competed in five group matches, winning two and losing three to finish fourth in Pool A and advance to the knockout round, where they will face Poland, the top seed from Pool C, on August 13 at 07:00. Six Asian teams qualified for the round of 16: Japan, South Korea, China, Thailand, the Philippines, and Taiwan.
